"Enjoying the Weekend"
4:13pm
Walking along Gateway Park trail towards West Wetland Park
It's been a lovely weekend, full of diversions. Julia and I enjoyed a funny play, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” with good friends. Then Saturday, I wanted to go to the balloon festival. Julia demurred at first, saying "It's just the same thing year after year." So I thought it would be good to get photos with a different perspective. We started at Gateway Park and walked up the trail to West Wetlands park. I did get a few good photos. I never tire of the balloons, for it always gives me a thrill as they rise. The winds must have been iffy Saturday, for not all were able to lift off. But many did.
"Time Peace" balloon, which I also saw on Friday morning, visible even from my sewing table...

"Leaping Rabbit"
7:23am
The Leap of the Rabbit, 1911 Amadeo de Souza Cardoso, Portuguese, 1887–1918 Oil on canvas, 19 5/8 x 23 15/16 in. (49.9 x 60.8 cm) Arthur Jerome Eddy Memorial Collection, Art Institute 1931.514 |
Julia and I won't be doing much leaping today. Julia's bug started with a headache, mine with tummy troubles. Both with the hot, cold spells, alternatively shivering and sweating. The warm bed awaits for the shivering phases. And Julia's feeling some better today, so I have hopes the bug won't last long.
