Julia wrote this December 7, 2025, on the obituary that briefly appeared for a couple of weeks:
"Carol and I have been friends since we met in Colorado in the closing week of 1992, and I just learned of her passing today. She visited with us in Yuma, AZ once or twice over the years and we kept in touch every now and then by email or phone. I will truly miss her and our wonderful conversations. Perhaps they will continue after a fashion as we all return to a greater Ocean in the fullness of time. Thank you, Carol, for touching my life! You won't be forgotten!"

"Carol Cynthia Ganow passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 81. Carol was born on April 28, 1944."
When creating Carol's 'find a grave' listing, Julia wrote:
"Carol had worked at Lawrence Livermore Labs for several years and later taught Geology at college level. She loved music and played the flute quite well, a longtime member of Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church. Carol is an extraordinary and intelligent lady, deeply missed by family and friends."
When Carol didn't respond to her emails or a Thanksgiving day phone call, Julia had a feeling, and did a web search.
Julia has known Carol for thirty three years. She visited us in 2007, and we enjoyed good conversation. Carol also visited on New Year's Day, 2003:
