"Coloring Fun"

I made a 5x7 coloring pdf of Seti I adapted from Lepsius' drawing and colored it

So that's what I want to do this morning, 'dwell on the beauty'.
Here are some gleanings from this month's U U World, "Ours is an electric, dancing middle way between the two poles of our precious individuality and our intimate connection." (page 50, Rev. James Ishmael Ford).
I love that! 'An electric, dancing middle way!'
This seems the balanced approach, the way of Ma'at. But the balance of Ma'at is not rigid. It is dynamic. The 'give and take' of life requires flexibility, a nimbleness of the soul.
I want to quote again from this issue:

"We need to think about faith, religion, and spirituality in a new way. When I grew up I was taught that religion was about what we believed. What made my denomination different (and correct, of course) was our sound doctrine. We were right. This made religion too much about being right, about us and them. Too much attention then goes into defending our beliefs. "I am now convinced that “belief,” in the way we usually use the word, is actually the enemy of faith, religion, and spirituality. Let me say that again: belief is the enemy of faith. When we dwell on beliefs we ask all the wrong questions. My faith is much more about what I love than about what I think. I came across a very nicely modeled ankh. The original sharer of this photo doesn't say from where it comes, but I suspect it's the Open Air Museum in Karnak.
Anyway, I felt my itchy fingers wanting to have a go at a drawing, so I set up a model:
 Ink pen and colored pencil on acid free paper, 17.8 x 25.3 cm (7 x 10 in.), spiral rings removed after the scan, and adjusted a bit. |
