"A Change of Season"
6:23pm

When we came home this evening, a pleasant surprise awaited us. The house was cool, and we didn't need to turn on the AC. We have waited long for the time when life in Yuma rewards us, and now is the time. While northern parts of the country are going as low as the mid teens (3 C), we'll have good sleeping with windows open. But our leaves are not changing color. When they do, in the chilliest winter, they turn golden at most, never a red. I enjoyed the changing leaves while in Seattle:

And yes, there was a faint smell of salty ocean breezes...

So vibrant...

One fallen leaf made such a perfect star, I had to save it...

Because we don't have that type of tree here in Yuma, I took that leaf and put it between the pages of my sketchbook. It's only faded a little bit since then.
