When I did my first personified Djed holding a Was scepter, I didn't know whether any ancient Djed had ever grasped a Was scepter. However, I now know they have, and Nefertari's tomb has a beautiful example of one. (Really, Nefertari's tomb has beautiful examples of EVERY symbol and Deity!) I took my model, which was a crop of a 2005 SCA photo Marcel Maessen shared online, and photoshopped it a bit to overcome the irregularities of perspective:
 For further example, I included a Djed amulet I'd photographed at the Brooklyn museum.
